All members of AZA follow the strictest ethical guidelines and embrace AZA's core values when dealing with our clients, their families, and related parties.  AZA’s associates participate in Continuing Education Programs and are members of or work with various relevant organizations such as the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Alzheimer's Association, the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) and the American Society on Aging.  We also have the benefit of group supervision.

  • We treat our clients with the utmost respect and dignity that they deserve.

  • We are loyal to our clients and always have their best interest in mind.

  • We consider not only the client, but also all others affected by the client's care needs.

  • We respect the client's and the family's right to privacy by protecting all information that is given in confidence.

  • We strive to provide quality care by using a Care Plan that is developed together with the client and other interested parties.

  • We foster self-determination on the part of the elder.

  • We provide services to our clients only when a plan is agreed upon by the client and/or related parties and when the costs of services are explained.

  • We only recommend services and make referrals that are appropriate for the situation and we frequently offer alternatives so an informed decision can be made.

  • We use professional strategies that ensure our integrity as well as the integrity of our clients.

  • We always act within the parameters of our knowledge and capabilities and work to avoid conflicts of interest.

  • We provide full disclosure about business or personal relationships with each business, agency, or institution we may recommend to you.

  • We do not exploit relationships with clients and families for
    personal gain.

In 2009, Audrey Zabin, founder of AZA, was asked by the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers to give a presentation on Ethics at its Annual Conference.
